SA20 2024: Following the triumph of the inaugural season of South Africa’s T20 league, known as SA20, the South African cricket board has officially announced the schedule for its upcoming second edition. The anticipated second season, scheduled for 2024, is set to commence on January 10, culminating in the final match on February 10.

Cricket South Africa unveils SA20 Schedule
On Tuesday, August 15, Cricket South Africa officially unveiled the schedule for the second edition of the tournament. The inaugural match will witness the defending champions, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, facing off against Joburg Super Kings at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. The tournament, spanning over a month, is set to conclude on February 10, with the location for the final match yet to be determined.
Significantly, the 2024 edition of the tournament will introduce alterations to its format. The conclusion of the league stage will see the top two teams engaging in Qualifier 1, while the third and fourth-placed teams will partake in the Eliminator match. The victor of the initial Qualifier will secure a direct spot in the final, while the defeated side will receive a secondary opportunity by confronting the victor of the Eliminator match in the second Qualifier.

Furthermore, the cricket board has affirmed that double-header matches will exclusively happen on Sundays. Notably, the test series between New Zealand and South Africa is also scheduled to take place from 3rd of February, so it will be interesting to see whether the schedule gets altered or not.
