Himachal Pradesh pacer Siddarth Sharma passes away during Ranji season

Himachal Pradesh cricket Siddarth Sharma passed away on Thursday at the age of 28. He was in Gujarat with his team for the Ranji Trophy but was hospitalised after being in poor health condition. Siddarth died two weeks after being on a ventilator.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh has made the announcement on Twitter.

“Chief Minister Shri @SukhuSukhvinder has expressed deep condolences on the demise of Siddharth Sharma, the star fast bowler of the state who was a member of the Vijay Hazare Trophy winning cricket team of Himachal. The Chief Minister has expressed his deep condolences to the bereaved family members,” tweeted the official handle of CMO Himachal Pradesh.

Siddarth had played 13 matches for Himachal Pradesh including six first class, six list-A and one T20 match. He made his debut for Himachal in 2017-18 Ranji Trophy season while he had to wait for four more years till 2021 to play List A cricket for his state.

In total, Siddarth has taken 25 wickets in Ranji Trophy.
