In a touching moment following India’s victorious T20 World Cup, wife of World Cup-winning captain Rohit Sharma, Ritika Sajdeh, posted an adorable message. Rohit Sharma put the cricketing world in awe when he announced on June 29 that he will be retiring from the T20 International format, following an incredible victory in Barbados against South Africa.

Ritika Sajdeh’s Emotional Tribute

Ritika Sajdeh shared a heartfelt tribute to her husband on Instagram on Monday, sharing her joy and respect for his hard work and accomplishments.

“Ro, I know what this has meant to you. This format, this cup, these men, this journey, and this entire process of getting what you’ve always dreamed of. I know how hard these last few months have been for you. I know the toll it’s taken on your heart, mind, and body but watching you achieve your dream was incredibly emotional and inspiring. As your wife, I am immensely proud of what you’ve achieved and the impact you’ve had on this game and the people who love it; but as someone who loves your game, I’m sad to see you leave any part of it behind. I know you’ve thought long and hard about what’s best for this team, but that doesn’t make watching you leave that part of it behind any easier. I love you so much, and I am so incredibly proud to call you mine!”

A Memorable World Cup Journey

Rohit Sharma led India to an impeccable campaign, making history as the first team to go unbeaten and clinch the T20 World Cup. His exceptional performance with the bat saw him become the second-highest run scorer of the tournament, showcasing his undeniable prowess on the field.

During the post-match press conference, Rohit Sharma announced his decision to retire from T20Is, following in the footsteps of fellow cricket star Virat Kohli.
