Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan announced his retirement from all formats of cricket and the whole world was emotional. After all, he is one of the most loved cricketers of all time.
There are very few fans in the world who don’t have a soft corner for ‘Gabbar.’ He has a special place in every fan’s heart. The Indian cricket fandom will surely miss Dhawan dearly.
In an interview after his retirement, Dhawan opened up lots of facets of his life. He opened up about his future, his relationship with the Indian dressing room, and his longing for his son.
Shikhar Dhawan And Zoravar
The left-handed batter got married in 2012 to Ayesha Mukerji and welcomed their son Zoravar in 2014. The pair parted ways in 2021 after a long divorce trial.
Dhawan claimed that Mukerji had initially promised to live with him in India but was unable to do so due to her responsibilities toward her daughters from a previous marriage in Australia.
The worst part is that Dhawan has not seen his son since the divorce. A few months earlier, he posted a few pictures revealing that he had not spoken to his son for five to six months.
‘I Hope He Remembers Me’
In the interview, Dhawan opens up about his longing for his son. He wanted Zoravar to know about his retirement. “Zoravar is 11 now. I hope he gets to know about my retirement and all about my cricket journey.
But more than as a cricketer, I would like for Zoravar to remember me as a good human being.”
