Shah Rukh Khan: Before the IPL 2024 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals started, The king of Bollywood had special words for Rishabh Pant. It was a special message by SRK to the wicketkeeper for that horrific car accident he was in.
The co-owner of KKR opened up about how he felt after seeing the accident pictures and what was his first reactions. In an interview for Star Sports, he told Jatin Sapru that he felt horrible after watching the news and was scared.
Rishabh Pant was in a horrific car accident near Roorkee, Uttarakhand, in 2022. He suffered multiple injuries and was lucky to be even alive considering the state car was in. He made a miraculous comeback in IPL 2024 and everyone is happy about it.
‘It Was Horrifying’
Shah Rukh Khan stated “That was horrifying. I saw that video (of his car). It was horrifying! Because we didn’t know then, what was the result of that accident. So, you get the worst feelings. To me, these boys are like my own sons. I have youngsters in my team as well. I hoped he wasn’t injured badly.”
He further said “And a sportsman getting injured, it’s a double jeopardy. Worse than us getting injured. I wish him all the best. I hope his knee gets fully recovered soon. In the last game, when I met him, I was telling him not to get up, it must be hurting. I was hugging him and asking are you well? I had not seen him before that, post the accident and I am really happy that he’s back, playing well and I hope he keeps on playing well,”
When Shah Rukh Khan Met Rishabh Pant
As Shah Rukh himself stated his meeting with Pant at Vizag was kind of special. The owner of KKR rushed to the field as soon as the match was over and hugged Pant. It was visible how relieved he was now that the wicketkeeper was fine.
