Team India captain Virat Kohli will return to India on paternity leave after 6 limited-overs matches against Australia and the opening Test match to be played in Adelaide. Former Australia captain Ian Chappell says that Kohli’s absence in the last three matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will leave a big void in the batting order of the Indian team.
Ian Chappell believes that Virat Kohli’s return after the first Test between India and Australia next month will cause a ‘major drawback’ in the rival team, creating a selection dilemma. But in which direction the series will go, in the end the decision will be made only from this.
Kohli will return home from Adelaide for the birth of his first child after playing the first match of the four-match Test series starting on 17 December. He will however be a part of ODI and T20 series. The ODI series will begin on November 27.
