ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023: A captain’s knock from Scott Edwards led the Netherlands to their first victory in a tricky run chase. While chasing a small target of 212, the Netherlands was struggling when Edwards, alongside Teja Nidamanuru, helped them get across.
On the other hand, the USA was looking to register their first victory in the qualifiers. Having lost the first two, they were adamant about winning this one. But the team fell short in the end and registered their third loss in the third match.
Disciplined Bowling
After losing the toss for the third time, USA was sent to bat first. The Netherlands bowler took them to town on a pitch filled with moisture. USA batsmen were struggling throughout as five batsmen failed to go past the score of 10.
Shayan Jahangir played a gutsy inning of 71 to salvage something for the USA. Small but important innings from Gajanand Singh and Jessy Singh led the USA to a respectable score in the end. The USA finished their inning with a score of 211/8 in the end.
