ICC ODI World Cup 2023: There is no expiry date on dreams and sometimes life has a weird way of making sure you achieve those dreams. No matter where you are, an opportunity can strike at any time.
It is up to you to grab that opportunity and run a marathon with it. So, no matter where you are and what you are at the moment. Do not sleep on your dreams, because who knows when life will knock on your door and give you your dues.
And when it comes to cricket, we have seen countless stories of dreams coming true when no one expected them. Praveen Tambe is a perfect example when Rajasthan Royals picked him up at the last stage of his career.
Hardik Pandya is another dream come true story. And now we can add another story to that. A 29-year-old Swiggy delivery boy has just been picked up to be the net bowler for the Netherlands team during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Dream Come True
Lokesh Kumar, a 29-year-old Swiggy employee found the ad for a Netherlands team looking for a net bowler on the internet. He sent his video to the support staff and he was selected out of the 10,000 participants.
He has joined the squad in Alur, where the Dutch will prepare themselves for the upcoming tournament. Lokesh is a left-arm chinaman bowler and the Dutch think he will be helpful to the team.
Dream Come True Moment
Lokesh is very excited and has praised the Netherlands team. “This is one of the most precious moments of my career. I am yet to even play in the TNCA third-division league.”
“The Netherlands team members welcomed me with open arms; there was an induction ceremony for the net bowlers before the beginning of the session. The players told us: ‘Feel free, this is your team’. I already feel that I am part of the Dutch family,” Lokesh added.
