ICC ODI World Cup 2023: On Monday, the Afghanistan team made history as they defeated Pakistan in the ongoing World Cup. This was their second win of the campaign and their second win against a World Champion.
The rivalry between Afghanistan and Pakistan has been brewing for the past few years. Afghanistan always came close to a win but Pakistan somehow always wins in the end. So, you can imagine the emotions of everyone associated with the Afghan team.
The celebrations were wild, the emotions were uncontrollable. There was a lap of honor at Chepauk stadium in Chennai and some wild celebrations in Afghanistan.
Wild Celebrations In Afghanistan
A video has gone viral on social media where we can see a fan firing an AK-47 in the sky after the victory. The man is surrounded by many fans and all of them are dancing and shouting at the top of their lungs.
There were immense fireworks but even that sound was nerfed as the man started firing aerial shots of AK-47 in the sky. Other fans jumped away from the man but still were enjoying themselves through everything.

On Monday night, after the historic victory, Irfan Pathan and the former India all-rounder started dancing while Rashid Khan and his Afghanistan teammates were doing a lap of honor around Chepauk.
The setback was extremely difficult for the team to accept, according to Pakistani captain Babar Azam. After the batsmen put up a score of more than 280 to defend, he held the bowlers and fielders of Pakistan accountable for the loss.
