ICC Rankings: The Indian batsmen are on fire in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 so far. Especially Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as both of them are in the top 3 top run scorers of the campaign so far and are excelling.
On the other hand, Shubman Gill missed the first two matches of the campaign. He made his return against Pakistan and has been looking good since then. His half-century against Bangladesh was a testament that he is back to his best.
Rohit Sharma has scored a century and one half-century so far and is just thrashing bowlers in every match. On the other hand, Virat Kohli has just been phenomenal and has already scored 1 century and 3 half centuries so far.
Huge Jump In ICC Rankings
Viray Kohli jumped 3 points and is now in the 6th position in the rankings. He has 747 points, the same as David Warner who is in 5th with the same amount of points. Rohit Sharma has lost 2 points but has claimed 1 position in the rankings.
He is now in 8th position with 725 points and will climb even further up by the end of the tournament. Shubman Gill is now just 6 points behind Pakistan skipper Babar Azam. Azam has had a lackluster ICC ODI World Cup so far.
While Gill has 823 points and is sitting in second, Babar Azam is just 6 points ahead with 829. If the Indian opener can play well in the tournament, he can grab that top spot by the end of it.
The Proteas Domination
South Africa is another team playing some fantastic cricket. Their batsmen are on fire and this has resulted in Quinton De Cock and Henrich Klassen getting further boost in their rankings.
Both De Cock and Klassen jumped massively and are now in 3rd and 4th position respectively. While Rassie Van der Dussen has fallen down 4 positions and is now in 9th position.
