ICC Rankings: After Afghanistan’s well-known victory against Pakistan in a T20I series in the UAE, a new T20I bowler has scalped to the top of the rankings. In a three-match T20I series, Rashid Khan’s squad defeated Shadab Khan-led Pakistan by a score of 2-1. According to the most recent ICC rankings, the Afghan T20I captain has been rewarded by rising to the position of No. 1 T20I bowler in the world. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has also taken significant leads in the ODI Rankings.
New changes in ICC Rankings
Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka was edged out of first place by Rashid. He initially attained the No. 1 T20I bowling ranking in 2018 and is a phenomenal bowler. Moreover, India’s skipper Rohit Sharma and opening batsman Shubman Gill have also improved their positions recently. Gill has accumulated a career-high rating of 738 points and is currently ranked fifth on the ODI batters chart after the end of the ODI series against Australia. Sharma has moved up one position to take eighth place overall.
The former captain of India, Virat Kohli, is now ranked seventh in the ICC ODI rankings. His rating has now increased to 719. He was at the ninth spot in the last rankings, but this time he has moved up two spots. Shubman Gill is still at number five in the ODI rankings despite Virat Kohli’s rise, which hasn’t affected him. On the other side, Rohit Sharma, the skipper, has been placed at number eight.

With a rating of 705, Josh Hazlewood continues to be the best bowler in ODIs. Trent Boult stands at second spot with a score of 701. Whereas, India’s fast bowler Mohammad Siraj is presently ranked third. He is rated 691. Mitchell Starc comes in at number four. Rashid Khan, whose rating is 659, has reached the top 5 bowlers in the world.
