ICC Rankings: Rohit Sharma‘s brilliant performances in the West Indies series have finally paid out. The Indian skipper was one of the best Indian performers in the last WTC cycle and he is continuing to do so this cycle as well.
He was the second-highest run scorer in the two-match series with 1 century and 2 half centuries in three innings. It also included his fastest half-century which helped India break a 22-year old record.
And that has helped the Mumbai Indians skipper jump massively into ICC Test Rankings. ICC released the updated test rankings on Wednesday after the India Vs West Indies series was concluded and it is a delight for Indians.
The Hitman Show
The Indian skipper has made his way back into the Top 10 test ranking. The debutant Yashaswi Jaiswal has also made a humungous jump into the test ranking. The left-handed batsman was the top scorer in the series.
The Hitman left Rishabh Pant behind to jump into the tenth position of the ICC Test Rankings. While Yashaswi Jaiswal directly got 73rd rank on the test with 420 points to his name.
Even after his 76th century, Virat Kohli remained in the 14th position. But if he continues the same form, he will get into the top 10 sooner rather than later.
Ashwin Dominance Continues In ICC Rankings
Ravichandran Ashwin continued his dominance in the ICC Test Rankings. He solidified his position at the number 1 spot as he was the highest wicket-taker in the series. He took 15 wickets in just 2 matches.
Ravindra Jadeja also jumped 3 positions to get into the second position and remained in the number 1 position in the Test Allrounder rankings. Jasprit Bumrah fell down one position and is not the 10th best-ranked bowler in the test.
