ICC T20 World Cup 2024: The form of Virat Kohli has been a concern for Indian teams so far in the tournament. Usually, Kohli always performs in the T20 World Cup tournaments and has the most runs in this tournament’s history.
This time, things have not been so good for the King as he has not been able to touch double-digit scores in his three innings. While the fans are panicking the experts and players are not giving much mind to it.
Earlier, Sunil Gavaskar stated that there is nothing to worry about and things will change when the West Indies leg starts. Now, Shivam Dube has jumped in and has stated the same.
He Will Bounce Back
We all know that the pitch at Nassau County Stadium was bad for batsmen. Rishabh Pant was the highest scorer on this pitch with 96 runs in 3 innings. So, we can assume how bad the pitch was.
Virat Kohli has gotten out cheaply in all three matches, but on a good day, two of those dismissals would have gone for a boundary. That is just how luck works in cricket. And the players and the experts agree.
On being asked about Kohli’s form, Shivam Dube stated “There is nothing I can say about Virat Kohli because I’m not Virat Kohli. His bad patch means he got out cheaply a couple of times but will come back scoring hundreds in the next three matches. We all know his game and how he plays.”
ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Shivam Dube Form
The left-handed batsman was himself struggling with form ahead of the USA clash. In the final match in New York, he was able to find some form with a score of 31. The CSK player opened up about his struggles in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
“I was struggling with my form and focusing on my process. But here, there was no pressure. All the support staff and coaches backed me and told me, ‘It’s difficult, but you can hit sixes, so apply it.
I’ve never doubted myself for what I’ve done in the past. I just think that these conditions do not demand what I’ve done at CSK. These conditions require a different approach, so I was batting differently today.”
