Virender Sehwag looked back on Pakistan's performance in ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and stated that the players are not good enough.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Former Indian cricketer and legend Virender Sehwag is known for his blunt and brutal interviews. He never sugarcoats his words and says whatever he has in his mind.

While being asked about Pakistan’s performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Sehwag once again replied with brutally honest answers. He stated that the team has to find a new way and the old guard is not good enough.

The Multan Of Sultan emphasized the fact that Pakistan needs to develop more T20 batsmen. He stated that most of the Pakistan batters are only anchors and that is not how the team works in the modern T20 game.

‘Babar Azam Not Good Enough?’

Sehwag questioned the mentality of the Pakistan team and stated that they have to think hard about the future. He stated “Now Babar Azam and the others have to go back and think about the way forward in the T20 format. This team may not be able to win matches against a good team even when they get a good wicket.

They have to play differently from the way that Babar Azam plays. There are a few players who play with the same strike rate which is not good enough for T20. They have to find those players with high strike rates.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Trolled After Win

Pakistan can be the only team in the world who gets trolled even after a win. The Pakistan team was well and truly over Ireland but almost let the match slip from their hands.

Sehwag looked back at the match “We didn’t think that (Ireland) would reach 106 runs and we also didn’t think that Pakistan would take 19 overs to chase that down.

What has Pakistan done here, I don’t get it. Yes, they won but first they let them go from 32/6 to 106 and then it wasn’t like it was a very difficult wicket or that Ireland’s bowling was so good that you had to play so carefully in the chase.”
