ICC T20 World Cup 2024: India Vs Pakistan is one of the biggest matches in the world. It might probably be the biggest cricket match and the rarity of this match makes it even more exciting and intense.
The last time, when these neighboring countries faced each other in the ODI World Cup, it became the most-watched match of the tournament before the finals. There is also the possibility that the same thing will happen in the T20 World Cup.
As both of these teams will face each other on June 9th, every fan and critic has expressed their opinions. Everyone has their favorites and unlike the ODI match, this might be a very close encounter.
ICC T20 World Cup 2024: India Are Favorites
Various former players have started citing their views on the clash and have predicted their winners. Mostly, the players are choosing their teams or are stating that it will be a very close match.
But the shock came when a fan asked former Pakistan player Kamran Akmal about the clash and he stated that India will come out on top. The former Wicket Keeper thinks India is the definitive favorite. He replied to the fan asking the question with “Definitely India.”
Akmal Questions Pakistan Quality
On Friday, Akmal talked about Micheal Vaughan and his statements on the Pakistan cricket team. The former English skipper had earlier stated that letting English players play in IPL 2024 knockouts would have been better practice than playing a series against Pakistan.
This was not only a comment on high stakes in IPL but was also a question on the quality of Pakistan as a team. Shockingly, Akmal agreed with Vaughan and stated that the level of cricket has been in decline in Pakistan.
Akmal stated “Everybody knows the level of Pakistan cricket. We are losing against smaller teams like Ireland and in that sense Vaughan said that it is not a tough series. So the fault is ours. Had it been any other team like New Zealand, South Africa, and India then Vaughan would not have said it.”
