ICC T20 World Cup 2024: After a disastrous tournament, few of the Pakistani players are looking for a holiday in London. They might want to clear their minds from the haunting of group stage exit and are also considering participation in local leagues.
According to media reports, skipper Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, and Azam Khan will not directly go to Karachi. Rather they will take a detour towards Paris to spend some time with their family.
But this decision by the players does not sit well with the fans. The fans were already disappointed with the players and now this news has made them furious about this decision by the players.
Clearing The Minds?
The way that Pakistan’s ICC T20 World Cup 2024 had panned out, these players were under tremendous pressure. And now that their tournament is over, they are facing a lot of scrutiny regarding their positions in the team.
The players might want to clear their minds after such a pressured month and it might be a good distraction. Many players need a break after a huge tournament to get back in the right state of mind.
Out of the six players going on a holiday, few are also thinking of participating in UK local leagues. It shows that they are still dedicated to the sport and want to improve their game and change their mindset.
ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Exit
The PCB has allowed coach Gary Kirsten and assistant coach Azhar Mahmood to return to their respective homes as the Pakistan team does not have any upcoming engagements.
Pakistan finished third in Group A behind India and the USA with 4 points and missed the Super 8 qualification. Many experts questioned their mentality and approach and this break might be the exact thing they needed to sort it out.
