ICC T20 World Cup 2024: It was a glorious day for every Indian cricket fan around the globe. India thrashed their long-time rivals Australia and knocked them out of the T20 World Cup.

It was a perfect revenge after bearing that soul-crushing loss in the ODI World Cup 2023 finals. That loss has not been forgotten by anyone and it looks like Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was the same.

The way he batted and thrashed every Australian batter, it was like he was on a mission. He not only impressed Indian fans but also former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar, who was full of praise after this captain’s knock.

Cured The Depression

In a video posted by Akhtar on his social media, he was praising the Indian skipper. He was glad about the intent that Rohit showed and loved the way he batted. Akhtar further stated that he wanted Rohit to score 150 runs.

“The depression that India had after losing the last World Cup final, the one they deserved to win. That depression has now turned into an obsession that we have to beat Australia here.

Then Rohit Sharma did what he should have done, played with such intent. Rohit ne kya fainti lagayi hai Mitchell Starc ki (Rohit annihilated Starc). My heart wanted Rohit Sharma to score 150 today,” Akhtar stated.
