Ravindra Jadeja's downfall in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 raises a question that is his time in T20i over or he still has that X-factor?

ICC T20 World Cup 2024: While India has qualified for the semi-finals, there are still certain players who have not performed as per the expectations. The biggest name and worry among them is Ravindra Jadeja.

For the longest time, Jadeja has been hailed as the best all-rounder in the world. But after his woeful group stage and Super 8 performance, is it time for him to hang up the boots?

It is not the same Jadeja as earlier in the white ball cricket. So, the question needs to be asked, whether the management should let Jadeja play even when there are certain good replacements right behind.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Jadeja’s Woeful Run

Jadeja has been an enigma for so long, a superstar of an all-rounder. A player who could score big runs and bowl his 4 overs in a blink of an eye. But that has not been the case in this ICC T20 World Cup 2024 so far.

In his 6 innings, Jadeja has only managed to score 16 runs and has not finished his quota of 4 overs even once. He has only taken one wicket and has been super expensive as well.

So, if we are using Jadeja to only bowl 1 or 2 overs per game, aren’t there better players waiting for the debut? Axar Patel has completely taken over the old role of Jadej. While players like Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma can easily replace the current role of Jadeja.

‘Not To Be Questioned’

Meanwhile, former Indian player Sunil Gavaskar thinks differently. The legend stated that Jadeja should not be questioned regarding his form and he is not concerned about it.

He stated “I am not at all concerned as he is very experienced. For whatever opportunities he’s got, he’s done well. And don’t forget, in the field itself, he saved 20 to 30 runs with his fielding ability, taking catches.

“So I don’t think we should even think about questioning (Jadeja). The problem with India and Indian fans is, 2 bad games and you go ”what do with him, what to do with him?”

We hope Gavaskar is right for the sake of Team India because the tournament is going to get only tougher from here on.
