ICC T20 World Cup 2024: We are in the squad selection week as every team is going to announce the squad really soon. Blackcaps took the initiative and became the first team to announce the squad for the upcoming tournament.
Just like always, the Kiwis found a unique way to announce their squad once again. The New Zealand team always announces their squad in a unique and wholesome way. They let the families of selected players announce their inclusion during the ODI World Cup.
Trent Boult and Kane Williamson returned to the squad and Ben Sears will be a backup. It is a strong lineup with no surprise inclusion. Half of these players are already playing in the ongoing IPL 2024 tournament.
Kane Williamson To Lead The Charge
New Zealand Squad: Kane Williamson (C), Finn Allen, Trent Boult, Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee. Travelling Reserve: Ben Sears
Kane Williamson will lead the charge of the Blackcaps for the tournament. Meanwhile, Tim Southee and Trent Boult will lead the pace lineup. Adam Milne and Kyle Jameson will miss the tournament because of injury and Ben Sears will be the reserve.
Matt Henry and Rachin Ravindra will play their debut T20 World Cup and the hopes are high for both of them. It will be the sixth appearance for Kane Williamson at the T20 World Cup and fourth as the skipper.

New Zealand head coach Gary Stead congratulated everyone who was selected and thinks he has selected a well-balanced squad. “We expect the venues in the West Indies to offer quite varied conditions and feel we’ve selected a squad with the scope to adapt to those conditions.”
