ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Virat Kohli has been a shell of his best version in the ongoing tournament. In the three group stage matches, he has not been able to cross the single-digit mark even once.
But a few of those scores could be credited to the USA pitch as well, which was hell for every batsman. The new approach of Kohli did not work on this pitch, but there were various positive signs.
Former Indian player Aakash Chopra came out and stated that there is nothing to worry about and we will see the best of Kohli in the Carribean leg. He further stated that Kohli will come back in form against Afghanistan. Not because of the opponent but because of how good he is as a player.
‘No Need To Worry’
Aakash Chopra stated “I believe Virat Kohli should return to form against Afghanistan, not because of the opponent, but because of the caliber of player he is and the form he exhibited coming into this World Cup.
Considering the venue, there is hope the ball will come onto the bat well, and the side boundaries aren’t very large. I think he has been overly aggressive. In India’s last match against Afghanistan in Bengaluru, he attempted a six on the first ball and got out.
His dismissals during this World Cup suggest an overly positive approach that hasn’t worked for him. If Kohli gives himself some time, his form won’t be a concern.”
