ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Australia had a wonderful start to their Super 8 campaign against Bangladesh in Antigua as they dismantled Bangladesh for 140/8 in 20 overs courtesy of Pat Cummins.
A sensational hattrick by Cummins in the 18th over stopped Bangladesh to finish the inning on a high note. The ODI World Cup-winning captain has been on a tear for the past few years now.
He found a new role for himself in IPL 2024 where he used to dismantle opposition in the middle overs. He was doing that here again and became the second Australian bowler to take a hat trick in the T20i World Cup.
History Maker Cummins!
Pat Cummins got the wickets on Mahmudullah, Mahedi Hasan, and Towhid Hridoy in the 18th over to claim his hat trick. He finished his four overs and had an impressive figures of 29/3.
Cummins became the second Australian after Brett Lee to achieve this record in the T20i World Cup. He is the overall seventh bowler to claim a hat trick in the T20i World Cup.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Lucky For India?
In a very interesting coincidence, both Lee and Cummins took their hat trick against Bangladesh. As soon as Cummins claimed the record, another peculiar fact started going viral on social media.
In 2007, when Brett Lee claimed the hat trick, India won the ICC T20i World Cup. The Indian fans took no time to compare the two and get more hopeful for another triumph by India. All these facts are coincidences and nothing else, it is something that has given ICT fans a little bit more hope after several heartbreaks.
