ICC T20 World Cup 2024: The Afghanistan players and fans could not have asked for a better ending than this. It was a slobber knocker of a match against Bangladesh where Afghanistan scripted its history.
They did not have to wait for luck or other teams to produce a result for them. They did it on their merit with their skills and determination. And no one could stop them.
“From Kabul To Kandahar, they will all be celebrating” were the words of commentator Pommie Mbangwa that made this moment forever etched in the history of crickets. And he was right, the streets of Kabul were filled with people celebrating while the players could not stop their tears as they became part of this historic moment.

It was a pompous night in Kingstown as Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh to book their place in the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. It will be Afghanistan’s first semi-finals in the ICC tournament, meanwhile, Bangladesh has still not yet made it to that stage. This just shows the epic rise of Afghanistan who are now the second-best Asian team in white ball format.
As soon as Naveen Ul-Haq took the last wicket, the celebration started. Gulbadin Naib forgot that he had a cramp and ran like Usain Bolt. Gurbaz who was not able to run was in tears.
The coaching staff of the team could not believe what had happened. Skipper Rashid Khan went to the ground as his hard work and determination finally paid off. It is a fairy tail that no one wants to end. The whole world is proud of the Afghanistan team and onto the next round they go.

If no one knew what had happened, the streets of Pakita made sure to remind everyone that Afghanistan was in the semi-finals of the tournament. They have faced the best and defeated them to secure their place among the top 4.
The four best teams of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 are set and now we are in the final stages of the tournament. Afghanistan will face South Africa in the first semi-final while India and England will lock horns later on the same day. The finals will be played on 29th July, 8:00 PM IST and all four of these teams would like to get their hands on that trophy.
