ICC T20 World Cup 2024: India’s quest for a World Title will begin again in June as the team would like to bring glory to the nation after some disappointments over the years. The 15-man squad that was announced for the tournament has received mixed reactions from everyone.
Man experts and fans are happy with the team and the balance that it provides. They are happy that the constant performers are finally getting the chance on the big stage. On the other hand, there has been some criticism about the team.
The first and foremost criticism has been about the exclusion of Rinku Singh who has been phenomenal for the Indian team. Former World Cup winner Harbhajan Singh was of the same mind when he expressed his feelings over the squad announced by BCCI.
‘Too Many Spinners’
Talking about the team, Harbhajan is overall happy with the squad but thinks that Rinku will be a big miss. He also thinks that selecting 4 spinners is a bit too much and adding an extra pacer would have been better.
Harbhajan stated “The World Cup team has been selected. The batting is good. I think we are one fast bowler short. One player that I think we will miss is Rinku Singh, because he is someone who can win the match single-handedly for us. He can chase down 60 runs in 20 balls. I think selecting four spinners is a bit too much. Three would have been enough. I wish Team India all the best, and hope they bring the cup.”
He further stated “I do not think we will ever play four spinners in a game. Ravindra Jadeja will play. Maybe Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal will play with him. Maybe we will field three spinners in a game. We will get to know the combo on seeing the conditions.”

Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal are the four spinners selected by the board. While Axar and Jadeja will fall under the all-rounder category, they are far better than many frontline spinners in the world.
