ICC: Finally, the fixtures for the Women’s T20 World Cup have been unveiled. The honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, revealed the fixtures on Sunday alongside Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sulana.
The defending champions Australia will once again commence their journey toward the event title in October. They have been placed alongside India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and a team that will win the first qualifier.
This also means that India and Pakistan are in the same group and will be facing each other in the group stage itself. According to the schedule, the neighbor rivals are set to face each other on October 6.
Tough Group
India has a tough group as both Australia and New Zealand are in the group with them. Both of these teams are T20 specialists and it will be a tough task for India to go through the group stages.
Each side will play 4 matches in the group stages with the top 2 teams qualifying for the semi-finals. The final will be played in Dhaka on October 20th.
Group A: Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Qualifier 1
Group B: South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Qualifier 2
