Nevertheless, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has stated that Zainab’s departure was due to personal reasons, as reported.

Zainab Abbas reportedly departed from India while she was stationed in Hyderabad, where she had been assigned to cover Pakistan’s three ICC World Cup 2023 matches in the city. The 35-year-old presenter was in attendance at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad during Pakistan’s World Cup opener against the Netherlands on October 6.
Her itinerary was set to include travel to other cities where Pakistan is slated to compete, including Bengaluru, Chennai, and Ahmedabad. Amid increasing speculation on social media regarding her departure from India during the ongoing tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has explicitly stated that Zainab was not expelled or deported from the host country. ICC spokesperson stated that, “Zainab has not been deported, she has left for personal reasons.”

This clarification was issued in response to the speculations and discussions surrounding the circumstances of Zainab’s departure from India. It’s worth noting that former Pakistan cricketers Rameez Raja and Waqar Younis are also in India as members of the commentary panel for the ODI World Cup, which began on October 5 and is scheduled to conclude on November 19.
