ICC World Cup Qualifiers: Oman has made history as they chased down a big target of 282 in the ICC world cup qualifiers group stage match against Ireland. This is Oman’s first ODI victory against Ireland and also their highest run chase.

Previously Oman defeated Ireland back in 2016 in the T20 format the game. But this victory is massive for Oman not only because of how historic it is but it gave them a huge boost in their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup.

Commendable Batting Performance

282 is not a small target in any way, but the way Oman chased it down was commendable. They never looked out of the match at any moment. Even after the opening batsman, Jatinder Singh got out early; they chased the target down comfortably.

Half-centuries from Kashyap kumar Harishbhai, Aqib Ilyas, and Zeeshan Maqsood put Oman in a comfortable position. After that, Mohammad Nadeem’s inning of 46 runs in 53 balls was enough to get them over the line.

An amazing collective batting performance kept Oman in the game at every moment. And they were able to withstand the pressure and apply the finishing touch.
