IND vs AUS: Indian cricketer KL Rahul is being criticized for his poor performance in the first two Tests against Australia. Social media has been abuzz with trolls directed at the batsman. KL Rahul faces backlash on social media
On the other hand, a debate has emerged on Twitter between former Indian cricketers Akash Chopra and Venkatesh Prasad over Rahul’s place in the team. Bishop stated that ‘it is acceptable to have an opinion on a player’s performance, but the discussion on Rahul should be limited to cricketing matters.’ Bishop expressed his views to One Cricket, saying that he does not want to comment on the ongoing debate. He believes that this is part of every cricketer’s life, and he has faced similar criticism during his playing days. However, Bishop thinks that the trolling of Rahul is unjustified, and people should refrain from making it personal.
Bishop urges people to avoid personal attacks and have patience with Rahul
Ian Bishop went on to say that ‘Rahul is a talented player, and he will prove himself in different formats of the game.’ Bishop believes that it may take some time, but Rahul will eventually find his place in the team. Personal attacks against players should not be encouraged, as they can be detrimental to their mental well-being. Ian Bishop defended KL Rahul and urged people to be patient with him. Bishop believes that Rahul’s natural game will shine through in the future, and he will silence his critics.
