IND vs AUS: Suryakumar Yadav showed outstanding fielding skills during the ongoing first ODI between India and Australia at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. His presence of mind led to Cameron Green’s dismissal as a comical event unfolded on the field.
Suryakumar Yadav shows brilliant on-field performance
Despite a promising start by David Warner (52) and Steve Smith (41), Australia struggled to maintain momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals. Cameron Green appeared to be settling in and poised to lead the team to a competitive total. However, a miscommunication with Jos Inglis in the middle resulted in Cameron Green being run out during the 40th over. Mohammed Shami delivered a slower-length ball to the all-rounder, resulting in an outside edge that KL Rahul couldn’t collect cleanly, allowing the ball to bounce towards the third man.
Cameron Green initiated the first run swiftly and was eager to secure the second, but his partner, Jos Inglis, failed to notice his intent. Green nearly reached the middle of the pitch before reversing his direction. KL Rahul tossed the ball to bowler Mohammed Shami, who couldn’t grab it. Fortunately, Suryakumar Yadav was positioned behind him. Despite difficulties, he made a backhanded throw to the stumps. Cameron Green managed to score 31 runs off 52 balls, including three boundaries.
