IND vs AUS: India has made an impressive beginning with the bat as they pursue a target of 276 runs against Australia in the first ODI at the Punjab Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad have showcased their skill with captivating shots during the match. However, they also notched a rare moment by scoring 4 runs on a single ball.
Epic partnership between Gill & Gaikwad
Shubman Gill, especially, launched an aggressive assault on the Australian bowlers during the powerplay, showcasing some spectacular strokes. Against Pat Cummins, Marcus Stoinis, and Sean Abbott, he displayed his prowess by consistently finding gaps all over the field, providing his team with an agressive start on his home turf in Mohali.
Subsequently, Ruturaj Gaikwad started cautiously but eventually found his rhythm. He partnered with Shubman Gill to accomplish an unusual feat of running four runs between the wickets, an uncommon occurrence in white-ball cricket.
This incident unfolded during the first delivery of the ninth over when Cameron Green delivered a length ball aimed at the middle stump. Shubman Gill played the ball, guiding it beyond mid-wicket. Although the fielder’s exceptional effort prevented a boundary, Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad managed to sprint and complete four runs. While the boundary was denied, the batsmen effectively accumulated the same number of runs through their quick running.
