IND vs AUS: The presence of the two countries’ prime ministers in Ahmedabad before to the fourth and final Test between India and Australia was historic. At the event, Anthony Albanese, the Australian equivalent to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the two captains of their respective nations each received a special cap. There was a loud cheer in the stadium as Modi gave the cap to Rohit Sharma, the captain of India. Following a photo opportunity with the two PMs and the two captains holding hands, Rohit approached the dais to accept the cap.
Australia wins the toss and opts to bat first
Australia, meanwhile, decided to bat first. Moreover, Rohit acknowledged he would have preferred to have batted first. “We are aware of what must be done. Shami has returned and Siraj is rested. A little downtime is always welcome. The crew needs to reassemble, and there are many things to consider. I hope the pitch stays the same for the entire five days even though it’s not the same as what we witnessed in the first three Tests, Rohit remarked at the toss.
