IND Vs AUS T20 World Cup 2024: Rohit Sharma was on fire against Australia in this virtual knockout match. India needed to secure the victory to confirm their qualification in the semi-finals.

But for the Men In Blues, it was much more than that and they needed one of their big guns to deliver. As Virat Kohli got out on a duck, it looked like India will go on a rough start and it will be difficult from here.

But the Indian skipper did not let the pressure build up even a bit as he scored a sensational half-century. It has been such an absurd innings that when India reached the 50-run mark, 49 of them were scored by the Hitman.

IND Vs Aus T20 World Cup 2024: Blistering Half-Century!

It was the new avatar of Rohit Sharma firing on all cylinders. That is why everyone says that when Rohit is in form, he is one of the scariest batsmen in the world. No one is quite like him in terms of six-hitting.

He hit four sixes against Starc in just one over. It was so bad that Marsh had to remove Starc from the attack immediately. But the Indian skipper did not stop as he hit Pat Cummins for a 100-metre six on the first delivery.

It took Rohit only 20 deliveries to reach his half-century which included 5 sixes and 4 boundaries. With his 5th six, he also reached a milestone that has not been achieved by anyone.

A World Record!

The Indian skipper has now hit 200 sixes in International T20 matches. He is the one and only batsman to achieve that milestone. And he reached this milestone with a 100-metre six against Pat Cummins.

He is also the player who has the most sixes against Australia across all formats. Rohit has hit 129 sixes against the Aussies across all three formats.
