IND vs AUS WTC 2023: The ongoing clash between India and Australia in the World Test Championship final at the Kennington Oval has seen the Australians dominate since the first day of the match. Australia posted a formidable total of 469 runs in their first innings, while India could only manage 296 in their second innings. On the third day, after India’s innings came to an end, Australia began their batting, but their opener David Warner fell early to a brilliant delivery by Mohammed Siraj. The next batsman, Marnus Labuschagne, found himself in a rather comical incident, making it one of the most amusing moments of this WTC Final.
Marnus Labuschagne dozes off in the dressing room
Sporting a commanding lead of 173 runs, Khawaja and Warner strode out to the crease with the intention of extending the advantage even more. However, amidst the competitive atmosphere and the Indian team’s determined stance, Labuschagne surprised everyone by seemingly dozing off during the game. Perched in the team balcony, the camera captured Marnus with his head down, eyes closed, as he appeared to be in a state of deep relaxation. The camera lingered on Labuschagne for nearly 20 seconds, during which he remained motionless, completely unaffected by the surrounding action.
Labuschagne’s peaceful nap came to an abrupt halt courtesy of Team India, specifically Siraj, who delivered the next ball and claimed the prized wicket of David Warner. Siraj had troubled Warner with two deliveries outside off stump earlier in the over, and this time he succeeded in inducing an edge that landed straight into the gloves of wicketkeeper KS Bharat. The cameras swiftly shifted their focus to Labuschagne in the dressing room, who had swiftly risen to his feet and began preparing himself with protective gear.
However, a different camera angle revealed the true scene, capturing the moment when Labuschagne was startled awake by the roaring cheers of the crowd at The Oval. With a slightly groggy expression, Marnus turned his head, awakened by the timely wake-up call delivered by Siraj, who once again made an impact with the new ball.
