IND vs AUS WTC Final 2023: Despite a commendable comeback by the Indian team on Day 3 of the World Test Championship Final 2023, the Australian team maintains an advantageous position by the end of the day. Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur’s remarkable partnership of 109 runs for the seventh wicket not only rescued the team from the follow-on situation but also added significant momentum. The Indian cricket team concluded their innings at 296 runs. Interestingly, towards the end of their innings, a peculiar incident unfolded as Mohammed Siraj’s successful review ignited boos from the Indian fans towards the Australian team.
Chaotic scenes on the field
In the 68th over of Team India’s innings, Mohammed Siraj faced a delivery from Cameron Green that struck him directly in front of the wickets. Initially, Siraj seemed to be in a dismissive position and the umpire declared him out. The Australian players began to leave the field, assuming the dismissal. However, Siraj chose to challenge the decision by opting for a review.
Despite the review being taken, the Australian players were already making their way off the field. However, upon reviewing the footage, it became evident that there was a distinct edge before the ball made contact with Mohammed Siraj’s pads. As a result, the decision was overturned, forcing the Australian players to hastily return to the field. This incident also provided an opportunity for Indian fans to express their displeasure by booing the Australian players. Unfortunately for Team India, their innings could only add two more runs to the scoreboard before Mohammed Shami was caught behind.

By the end of Day 3 of the WTC Final, Team India concluded their innings at 124/4. Marnus Labuschagne and Cameron Green remained at the crease, aiming to extend their team’s lead, which already stands at 296 runs.
