IND vs AUS WTC Final 2023: During a crucial stage of the WTC Final 2023, an intense confrontation unfolded between Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj and Australian batsman Steve Smith. The atmosphere grew charged when Smith managed to hit consecutive boundaries to complete his century, leading to Siraj visibly expressing his frustration with a stern stare. This incident added an additional element of excitement to an already captivating match.
Siraj vents out his frustration
Smith had just scored his ninth Test century against India, tying him with Joe Root for the most centuries scored against India. He was batting brilliantly, hitting the ball to the boundary with ease. However, when the players were getting ready for the next delivery, there was a problem with the spidey cam. The spidey cam is a camera system that is suspended by wires above the ground and provides unique angles and close-up shots of the action. The problem with the camera caused a brief interruption in play, which disrupted Smith’s concentration. Just as when Siraj was about to throw the ball, Smith backed off and signalled towards spidey came.
Despite the spidey cam glitch causing a disruption, Siraj, still grappling with his frustration, reacted by venting it out through a forceful throw of the ball towards the stumps. After Siraj delivered the ball, Smith confidently defended it back to the bowler, who swiftly retrieved it. In that fleeting instant, Siraj’s frustration overflowed, and he locked eyes with the Australian batsman, clearly conveying his displeasure at being hit for boundaries. This intense exchange of stares between Siraj and Smith gave an interesting element to the already gripping clash between the two teams.
