IND vs AUS WTC Final 2023: The third day of the World Test Championship final between India and Australia at London’s Oval has concluded, with Australia showing significant dominance throughout the match. In their second innings, Australia amassed a lead of 296 runs, scoring 123 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. However, there are concerns that the fourth and fifth days of the match may be affected by rain, as reported.
Will rain play spoilsport?
Despite the absence of rain-related disruptions in the initial three days of the game, there is a significant likelihood of rain on the fourth and fifth day. To accommodate any potential interruptions, the ICC has designated June 12 as a reserve day for the match.
Accuweather predicts a 55 percent chance of rain in London on the fourth day, June 10, while the fifth day, June 11, is expected to have approximately 88 percent rainfall. The temperature range for the fourth day will vary between a minimum of around 17 degrees Celsius and a maximum of around 30 degrees Celsius. Similarly, the fifth day will have a minimum temperature of around 17 degrees and a maximum of around 30 degrees. Moreover, the Reserve Day, June 12, carries a significant 80 percent chance of rain.
What happens if IND vs AUS WTC Final 2023 ends in draw?
In the event of a draw in the final match of the World Test Championship due to rain, neither team will be considered the sole winner. Instead, both teams will be declared joint winners, and the trophy of the World Test Championship will be shared between them. This ruling is in accordance with the ICC regulations, which state that if the final of an ICC tournament or championship ends in a draw, both teams are declared winners.
