IND vs AUS WTC Final 2023: In a remarkable display of athleticism, Australian all-rounder Cameron Green took a sensational one-handed catch to dismiss the in-form Ajinkya Rahane at 89. Rahane, who entered the crease with India at 50-3, played a pivotal role in rescuing the Indian innings through crucial partnerships with Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur. However, his innings was brought to an end by Green’s outstanding catch, adding another highlight to the match.
Cameron Green pulls off a stunner
With a potential century in sight, the batsman stepped back onto the field for the second session of Day 2. Ajinkya Rahane patiently played out the first over, not scoring any runs, and then returned to face the last delivery of the 62nd over. Pat Cummins delivered a ball outside the off-stump, tempting Rahane to play a shot. Unfortunately for Rahane, the ball found the edge of his bat, resulting in a sensational one-handed catch at gully by Cameron Green.
The catch, taken with remarkable skill and agility, ended Rahane’s innings and added another moment of brilliance to the match. With the wicket, India once again lost the momentum in the match which once appeared to be coming within Men in Blue’s side. He was dismissed for a score of 89 runs in 129 balls, hitting 11 boundaries and a six.
