IND vs AUS WTC Final 2023: In the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) final against India, Australia has unquestionably asserted their dominance. Having amassed a formidable total of 469 runs in the first innings, thanks to impressive and contrasting centuries from Travis Head (165) and Steve Smith (121), they have also commenced their bowling performance on a high note. However, India’s opening batsmen, Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma, have both been dismissed cheaply. Nonetheless, it was Shubman Gill’s wicket that has stormed off social media.
Shubman Gill dismissed cheaply by Boland
As Pat Cummins skillfully trapped his counterpart, Shubman Gill, leg-before-wicket, the young batsman’s misjudgment proved costly when a delivery from Scott Boland shattered his stumps. Boland’s delivery was commendable, but Gill’s downfall stemmed from his failure to anticipate the movement of the red cricket ball.
In a moment of brilliance during the second session on Day 2, Australia’s formidable fast bowler, Scott Boland, dismantled the stumps of Shubman Gill, causing him to depart for 13 runs in the seventh over of India’s Inning
This significant wicket resulted in India’s first innings being reduced to 30-2 in just the seventh over. Adding to the Australian team’s success, their captain Pat Cummins accomplished a dismissal of his own in the preceding over, sending the opposing skipper Rohit Sharma back to the pavilion with a leg-before-wicket decision after scoring 15 runs.
