IND vs BAN: Shreyas Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin, two of Team India’s top players, put out an outstanding performance on Day 4 to help India win the two-Test series 2-0. Iyer and Ashwin saved India from defeat after the team had fallen behind at 74/7. In Dhaka, the pair put on an unbroken 71-run stand to help India win the series. India’s second-place finish in the World Test Championship has been further solidified by the victory.

The visitors were in serious trouble during the run-chase when they lost four early wickets at a score of just 45, and several of its top batsmen (KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Virat Kohli) were cheaply out of the game. India suffered more defeats on Day 4 when nightwatchman Jaydev Unadkat, Rishabh Pant, and Axar Patel were all dismissed within a short period of time, putting the guests in a bind.
After emerging victorious, Ashwin erupted in joy and Shreyas Iyer too gave him a hug. Whereas, in the dressing room, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, coach Rahul Dravid too were seen getting off their chairs as soon as the ball went for run.

Iyer and Ashwin, on the other hand, maintained their composure and smashed the poor deliveries by rotating the strike at regular intervals. In the end, Ashwin scored a boundary to lead India to the target during the run chase, scoring the decisive runs.
India’s final international cricket match of the year was this series against Bangladesh; the team will next play in T20 Internationals against Sri Lanka in January.
