IND vs BAN: In the first Test of the two-match series, India has defeated Bangladesh by 188 runs at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium thanks to Kuldeep Yadav’s eight wickets, including a five-for in the first innings, and Cheteshwar Pujara’s heroic 90 and 102 runs. KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first, and the visitors amassed 404 runs. Eventually, Bangladesh was bowled out for 150, India had a 254-run lead after the first inning.
India wins the match with Kuldeep’s comeback
In the first innings, Kuldeep took a fif wicket haul as he returned to Test cricket after 20 months. He was also crowned player of the match as he went on to take total 8 wickets in the match. A 513-run total was set for Bangladesh by the KL Rahul-led team when it declared its second innings at 258 for 2.
Although India bowled out Shakib Al Hasan’s team for 324 runs, the Bangladeshi captain displayed good resiliency with his 84-run innings. In the final innings, Kuldeep claimed three wickets, and Axar Patel claimed four.
India moves up in the WTC table after first IND vs BAN test
India has moved up to third place on the WTC point standings with this victory. If South Africa loses the ongoing Gabba Test, they will go up to second. India has four home matches left against the Australians out of the remaining five Tests in this cycle. The following Test is at Dhaka, where India was defeated by hosts in both of the ODIs.
