IND vs BAN: Rishabh Pant, the ace wicketkeeper for Team India, had yet another outstanding performance behind the wickets on Day 3 of the second Test against Bangladesh when he stumped out Nurul Hasan with lightning-fast reflexes. Before Axar Patel eventually dismissed the batter, Nurul was in fine form during his innings, scoring 31 runs off 28 deliveries in a counterattacking knock.
Rishabh Pant shows his wicketkeeping prowess
Axar pitched the length slightly up, inviting the batsman to play a defensive shot, but Pant carried the ball flawlessly before removing the bails as it soon went away from the right-hander. On Day 3 of the Test, Axar claimed Bangladesh’s seventh wicket of the innings as India continued to make progress. India’s Virat Kohli exclaimed, “Come on!” in celebration as soon as Pant did the dismissal by removing the bails.
Rishabh Pant’s stunning performance in IND vs BAN test
The young wicketkeeper-batter Pant is having a standout performance in the second Test of the series. He contributed significantly with the bat, scoring 93 runs to save the Indian innings after a string of early setbacks. Even though Virat Kohli was eventually dismissed for the team’s fourth wicket, Pant and Shreyas Iyer (87) put up a crucial stand to get India out of danger when they came to bat with the score at 72/3.
However, Pant had already amassed five hundred in his Test career; this was just his sixth century in the 1990s. Prior to the Test series, the wicketkeeper-batter had received a lot of criticism for his performance with the white ball. Despite this, he was unfazed by the criticism and turned in a strong performance for the team.
India currently leads the series by 1-0
With a commanding 188-run victory in the opening match in Chattogram, India has a 1-0 lead in the two-Test series. With a victory in Dhaka, the team, which is presently ranked second in the World Test Championship, will be able to solidify their claim to it.
