IND Vs BAN T20 World Cup 2024: The Indian team has begun their World Cup campaign with a warm-up match against Bangladesh. And there are certain decisions by the management that have already shocked the fans.
Virat Kohli was already out of the warm-up game and the Men In Blues decided to experiment with the lineup. The biggest shocker came when Sanju Samson came on the ground alongside Rohit Sharma to open the innings.
The shock factor increased when Rishabh Pant came as soon as Samson was dismissed. This raises the question regarding the involvement of Yashaswi Jaiswal in the Playing XI.
Dream Comeback
It was the first time that Rishabh Pant wore the Indian jersey after two years. After that horrific accident, no one thought he would be able to get back in the national squad. But, he has exceeded everyone’s expectations.
It was like he was batting with no pressure and was playing shots in every direction. He scored a brilliant half-century in just 30 deliveries and retired himself immediately. Another good news for the Indian team was Hardik Pandya coming back in form.
It was vintage Pandya show who finished the innings beautifully for the Indian team. His three consecutive sixes were the moment of the first innings. A sensational inning that got him cheered for the first time in almost two months.
IND Vs BAN T20 World Cup 2024: Jaiswal Benched?
The biggest question after this warm-up match would be the involvement of Yashaswi Jaiswal in the Playing XI. After IPL 2024, everyone thought he would open the innings for India.
But after the warm-up match, things might have changed. It looks like the Indian team would try one of their keepers at the opening spot. Both Samson and Pant have experience in the opening spot.
And after the warm-up match, Rishabh is the front-runner for that spot. It would give India an option of fielding another batsman in the middle order. Maybe Axar Patel can come and increase the depth of both batting and bowling.
