IND vs BAN: Virat Kohli’s dismissal on zero has ireked his fans. Though, he scored a century in just his last match a few days ago but fans are annoyed now. A disappointed fan shared the video on Twitter of Kohli being out and wrote “Missed century by 99 runs.”
When Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan lost the toss and was asked to field by his Indian counterpart KL Rahul in the first Test match in Chattogram, he mentioned that wickets typically fall more frequently at this venue in the first session of Day 1 and then towards the final sessions of the third, fourth, and fifth day.
Dismissal leaves Virat Kohli surprised
As India arrived at lunch three down with 85 on the board, left-arm spinner Taijul Islam proved Shakib correct. Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli both lost two crucial wickets to Taijul. While Gill’s shot was unimpressive, Taijul’s ball to Kohli was absolutely outstanding. After India lost Rahul, who is captaining the team in lieu of the injured Rohit Sharma, Taijul absolutely outwitted Kohli, who had just entered the batting order.
The left-arm spinner’s third delivery of the 20th over caused one to simply drift and turn to avoid Kohli’s bat and strike his pads directly in front of the stumps. However, Kohli would have been better off if he had played the ball with his front foot. Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg, who was in the commentary box at the time, stated that “Kohli was completely bamboozled by Taijul.”

Fans annoyed with Virat opting for DRS
Fans were more irritated by Kohli’s decision to use DRS than by the fact that he wasted a review. The ball barely pitched in line and spun beyond Kohli’s bat. There was never any question as to whether the impact was proper or the wickets were falling, but Kohli shouldn’t be blamed for checking to see if the ball had actually pitched within the stumps.
Expectedly, the replays showed that he was out, and Kohli was forced to return after just scoring one run in five balls.
