In an ICC event held at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on October 22, Team India defeated New Zealand for the first time in twenty years. Virat Kohli scored 95 runs and contributed to his team’s fifth consecutive victory in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
Shami’s Five-Wicket Haul Restricts New Zealand, Kohli Leads India to Victory
After batting first, New Zealand scored 273 runs. Before Shami’s fifer restricted them to far under 300, the Kiwis were in a strong position with to centuries from Daryl Mitchell and Rachin Ravindra. Once more, Rohit and Gill gave their team a strong start. Even though there was a minor breakdown in the middle, Virat Kohli managed to hang onto one end, and India finally won handily.
