The first match of the three-match ODI series was played at Hyderabad ground and in this match, Team India decided to bat first after winning the toss and while batting first, Team India set a big target of 349 runs in their 50 overs. So in response, five batsmen of the Kiwi team who came to chase the target were dismissed for 110 runs. But Michael Bracewell, who came to bat at number 7, made the match exciting by playing a stormy innings. Michael Bracewell played an excellent inning of 140 runs in just 78 balls.
