Virat Kohli Slams Magnificent century

The former India captain, who resumed his innings from the overnight break on the reserve day, initially reached his half-century in 55 balls. He then accelerated, requiring only 29 more deliveries to complete his 47th ODI century. In total, his century included 9 boundaries and 3 sixes as the inning concluded on 122* off 94.

On the reserve day of the rain-affected match, the 34-year-old accomplished the milestone of 13,000 runs in ODIs with just 90 runs needed. Virat Kohli also marked his 47th century in 50-over cricket, moving within two centuries of Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries. Furthermore, he became the first player to achieve ODI centuries in four consecutive innings at a single venue.

During this achievement, Kohli surpassed the legendary Tendulkar, accomplishing it in his 267th innings. This remarkable feat solidifies his status as the fastest batsman to reach milestones of 8000, 9000, 10000, 11000, 12000, and now 13000 runs in ODIs.

KL Rahul joined Kohli in scoring a century (111*), achieving this feat shortly before Kohli. With both players reaching their centuries, India surpassed the 300-run milestone against Pakistan. Due to heavy rain, the match was abandoned on Sunday, with India’s score at 147/2 after 24.1 overs, necessitating a rescheduled reserve day. Both Kohli and KL Rahul began cautiously but ultimately took command of the game. India has given a target of 357 runs.
