He also praised Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and how Indian batsmen can learn something from him. Shastri was in a high mood and thought that India had a better chance of winning the Ind Vs Pak Asia Cup 2023 tie.

According to Shashtri, Babar Azam is one of the finest batsmen right now. He further stated that the Pakistan skipper knows how to score a century and it is one of his best traits.
“Babar converts those 30s and 40s starts into hundreds. And it is so important. We keep saying to go out there and face a number of balls, but if one of your top three gets a hundred, you get 300-plus,” Ravi Shastri stated.
Babar Azam just became the fastest batsman to reach 19 ODI century. He achieved the feat in just 102 innings leaving players like Hashim Amla and Virat Kohli behind. This is something that Ravi Shastri wants Indian batsmen to learn.
India Are The Favorites
Ravi Shastri also opened up on the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 clash and thinks that India is the favorite. But he also thinks that Pakistan has narrowed the gap in the past few years and the match will be amazing.
“I would say India starts as favorites. This is their strongest team since 2011, this mix of players, and a captain who is seasoned, and understands the terrain better than most.” Shastri stated.
