IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023: The highly significant India vs. Pakistan match is currently taking place at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium. Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, won the toss and chose to field, giving India the opportunity to bat first. While the Pakistan team had already announced their starting lineup the day before the match, Rohit Sharma decided to make two changes to India’s playing XI. Shreyas Iyer’s exclusion, however, left netizens surprised.

One of these changes was expected, as Jasprit Bumrah rejoined the team in Colombo after missing the match against Nepal due to the birth of his first child. The second change, however, was a necessity, with KL Rahul stepping in to replace Shreyas Iyer. Rohit Sharma then revealed that Iyer had been excluded from the XI due to a back spasm.
This decision by the team management didn’t sit well with fans, who expressed their opinions through social media, flooding it with memes and tweets. However, the exclusion was already expected by many as KL Rahul was supposed to be included in the Playing X1.
