IND vs SA 1st ODI: After rain spolied the play for almost two hours, the match had been reduced to 40-overs per side. However, the Proteas have managed to post 249/4 on board after playing for 40 overs. For South Africa, scored the most runs with David Miller scoring 75 off 63 ball. Following him was, Heinrich Klaasen who managed to score 74 from 65 balls. Quinton De Kock scored 48 from 54 balls, while Janneman Malan scored 22 off 42 balls.
For India, the best performance from the ball was from Shardul Thakur who gave just 35 runs from 8 overs while also picking up two crucial wickets. Follwing him was Kuldeep Yadav who gave 39 runs in his spell while picking up a wicket of Aiden Markram.
Will the Indian team featuring youngsters under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan be able to start their ODI run with a win. The senior players have left for Australia with these young guns in command. A lot of people are eyeing towards Sanju Samson and the skipper Dhawan to score majority of runs. With the ODI world cup happening next year, it is important for these players to prove them on big stage.
