What will happen if rain plays a spoilsport in IND Vs SA T20 World Cup 2024 Final and how will reserve day come in affect?

IND Vs SA T20 World Cup 2024 Final: The much anticipated final is right around the corner. Both these teams are desperate to win and end their streaks of bad luck that have been so prevalent in their histories.

For India, it has only been a decade since they have failed to win a trophy despite reaching multiple finals. But for South Africa, it has been embroiled in its history and they have the golden opportunity to change that.

No matter what is the result, both of these teams would like the match to be finished to get a fair chance to change the course of history and would hate if somehow rain spoils it for them.

Rain As Spoilsport?

As of now, Barbados has been experiencing light showers since last night. The rain has stopped in the morning and the skies are clear. But there is a chance that rain might hit the match.

According to the weather report, even if the rain disrupts the match, it should not be a major halt and the game will be completed. But if somehow rain washes out the match on Saturday, organizers have kept a reserve day for this final.

IND Vs SA T20 World Cup 2024 Final Reserve Day

ICC mandates that if the minimum number of overs are not bowled on the scheduled day of the match, then the match will resume on the reserve day from the point it was halted.

For a match to be finished, the chasing side should face a minimum of 10 overs. So, if the match on Saturday can not be completed due to rain, it will resume from that same point on Sunday.

The reserve day action will begin at 8:00 PM IST and in case of a tie, Super Over will be bowled. But if rain washes out both Saturday and Sunday, both India and South Africa will be declared as joint winners.
