But this time things are looking different. India has been dominant so far in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and is the heavyweight this time around. Former English skipper Michael Vaughan stated that if India wins today, we might see another dominant run by the Men In Blues.
Another ICC Overhaul?
Who can forget the dominant ICC trophy sweep India made under the captaincy of MS Dhoni? The ICT won the 2007 T20i World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup, and 2013 Champions Trophy.
Since then, it has been bad luck and disappointment. But Michael Vaughan thinks that if India defeats South Africa on Saturday, they will go on a championship spree.
He wrote on his social media “I feel if India get the job done today they are going to go on a trophy-winning spree. They have so much quality in and out of this squad. It’s been 10 years since they won a trophy and this one could lead to quite a few over the next years.”

Considering that other teams will be in a transition period for a while now and the Indian team has already sorted that out to an extent, this statement by Michael Vaughan is not that far-fetched.
Indian ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also agrees with the statement made by Michael Vaughan and if the scientists think it can happen, then it surely can.
